Foundation Safety and Rescue Training
This one day course will be intensive (you must have a 2 star)
to cover all the content required and make sure you have a good understanting
of the techniques used.
NOTE: We can offer this as a 2 day course designed for paddlers
with only 2 star previous experience.
The Foundation Safety and Rescue Training is a course designed to cover fundamental
techniques for any paddler, assistant or trainee coach. Throughout the day you
will learn a wide range of skills to help you deal with a situtaion on the water
and help you to paddle safely! At the end of the day you can put your new skills
into action with scenarios to deal with.
On successful completion of the course a certifcate can be sent for, (required
to attend coaching courses).
Canoes and kayaks will be used during the course, you can even bring your sit
on top along.
Please note: you will need good paddling gear (wetsuits provided)
and be happy to spend time in the water.

• Rescue a swimmer using a rigid aid
• Rescue a swimmer using a throw line
Boat based rescues
• Rescue a swimmer from the water
• Rescue a capsized paddler using a deep water rescue
• Rescue an uncoscious or entrapped paddler from their boat
• Use of towlines
